Just like any other dog owner, we like to talk about our own dogs and their accomplishments! Our dogs are all working dogs in one fashion or another. Keep checking back to see their (and our) latest accomplishments!
URO1 Quantum's Crazy Kamma Kayzie, CGC
Owned By: Lynnette Chaivre
Kayzie, or Kate, is a fully registered blue merle Border Collie born June 7, 2009. Even at a young age, she displayed an affinity toward young children, and allowed them to hang on her, pat her (rather hard sometimes), and even bite her. Her reaction to all this is to lick the kids and roll over to present her belly. To assist with her greeting children and prevent her from attempting to herd them, a common issue with her breed, Kayzie was taught to lie down and wait for the child to approach her. This is a position we encourage all the herding breeds we train to learn for the safety of both child and dog.
At just 6 months of age, Kayzie made her first Canine Freestyle performance for the Boy Scout Holiday party at North East Middle School in Comstock Township where she danced to the Chipmunks' version of "Santa Claus is Coming to Town" with her owner, Lynnette Chaivre.
2010 was another busy year for Kate. She earned her AKC Canine Good Citizen Award, began serious training for UKC competition, and started her herding lessons on sheep. She also began her media career by starring in several brochures and innovative training instruction posters.
2011 started well, but ultimately suffered when her owner experienced two tragedies: a car accident in March that forced them to take a break from training, and unexpected the death of a family member in April. Kayzie still made her competitive debut in June at the UKC Premier and earned the first 2 legs of her URO1 title. She completed the title at another UKC show in July and earned 2 more legs toward her URO2 title, as well as placing 1st and 4th in the trials!
Kayzie is currently continuing her herding lessons, training for her next Canine Freestyle routine, and preparing for her next UKC show.

Chaivre's Legend of the West, CGC (Maverick)
Owned By: Lynnette Chaivre
Maverick is a Border Collie - Boxer mix born January 29, 2007. He was adopted from Kalamazoo Animal Rescue in March of the same year and immediately began his training career.
Shortly after Maverick began training, he was diagnosed with parvo, a disease that is deadly to puppies. Thankfully, it was caught in the early stages and he made a full recovery.
Maverick spent the next two years training with Lynnette, and makes a wonderful demo dog when teaching classes. He went on to obtain his Canine Good Citizen award and has earned 2 out of 3 legs toward his URO1 title.
He is a very patient dog with an almost regal bearing, though he still has his goofball moments. Maverick seemed to skip right over his adolescent phase and go right into maturity.
His favorite thing in the world is his tennis ball and hanging with Lynnette. Maverick is currently preparing for his next Canine Freestyle routine and brushing up to return to the competition ring.
Maverick's Upcoming Events and Competitions
Taking a brief break from the show life to rest and train... and chase his tennis ball.
