This might surprise a lot of people, but, with us humans working longer and longer days, that dog that's extremely active when we come home spends most of his day lying around the house.
That much lying around is not good for a dog's muscular and skeletal systems, just as it is not good for ours.
Dogs today are more prone to tearing an ACL, pulling a muscle, or developing cramps and knots in their muscles than they were even 10 years ago. This can lead to a perceived behavioral problem when the dog becomes cranky, wouldn't you be cranky if you couldn't tell anyone you had a knot the size of Godzilla in your shoulder? Or run a mile without stretching?
There is hope.
We can take the initiative and reduce the risk of injury through stretching and massage techniques. Doing this has other benefits as well.
Benefits of Massage
Reduces risk of injury
Loosens and warm muscles
Keeps dogs limber
Decreases anxiety and mood swings
Reduces destructive behaviors
Increases dog's attention to owner
Makes grooming your dog much, much easier
and Strengthens dog/owner bond to name a few
How we can help
Our Canine Specialists have studied the canine muscular and skeletal systems and know how to massage and stretch your dog's muscles without injuring your pet. In fact, we regularly perform these techniques on our own dogs to increase performance and calm them at shows.
In fact, we consistently have fellow competitors ask us our secret (hard not to when you see a workaholic border collie so relaxed she's sleeping at the height of a trial instead of pacing in her crate!).
This isn't something you learn overnight, but you can learn these techniques with our gentle guidance, and have a much happier dog.
The sessions are held in your own home for your convenience and you are more than welcomed to ask us questions. We want your dog to be happy and healthy.
We have several packages available, choose the one that works best for you!
Times can be broken down into multiple session and represent actual massage time.
Expect every session to last approximately 45 minutes at first as your dog gets accustomed to us.
